Linda McGlone, M.P.H.
Linda has over 30 years of public health experience in Monterey County and has been the Coordinator of the STRYVE Youth Violence Prevention Program, since the project’s inception in 2011. Salinas STRYVE uses a public health approach to violence prevention, working with its partners in the local coalition, the Community Alliance for Safety and Peace. The Monterey County Health Department has implemented the STRYVE Program, consistent with a vision of supporting healthy, thriving communities.
Linda grew up in the Chicago area and received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois, in Chicago IL. She started college in architecture and has come to the realization that she might be a frustrated urban planner. Linda went onto receive a Master of Public Health Degree, specializing in health education from the University of Texas School Of Public Health. She has coordinated a wide variety of prevention programs at the Monterey County Health Department, including teen pregnancy prevention, employee wellness and now youth violence and teen dating violence prevention.
